Botox, Breast Cancer and Bell’s Palsy
Botox and dermal fillers are proven to be safe and effective, and treating breast cancer and Bell’s palsy patients is no exception. In fact, these are just a few of the medical diagnoses where Botox helps on the aesthetic side.
Botox and dermal fillers are becoming mainstream, and they are a popular tool for treating facial asymmetry and volume loss caused by a medical diagnosis. In these cases, they help create facial balance. After all, a diagnosis can bring physical, emotional, and social changes that affect a person’s daily life. Social interactions can feel daunting, especially around people who knew them before. Fortunately, Botox and dermal fillers can improve facial symmetry and ease the lifestyle changes that come with such a diagnosis.
Botox for Breast Cancer Patients
A breast cancer patient can very well benefit from Botox and dermal filler injections during such a difficult time. These products are minimally invasive, with little to no downtime. Moreover, they are safe and effective, which makes them a perfect answer for someone who wants facial rejuvenation without surgery.
In fact, rapid weight loss, collagen depletion, and aging often occur with these patients. As a result, Botox and dermal fillers can improve facial contouring and re-establish the youthful vectors. In addition, treatment can boost self-esteem and confidence, so patients feel they are putting their best face forward.
I am also a huge advocate of preventative treatments and starting early to stay ahead of the aging process, which begins after age 30 as collagen production slows. We all age daily, and collagen depletion is inevitable. However, with Botox and dermal fillers, we can preserve, maintain, and prevent the aging process from becoming severe.
Botox for Bell’s Palsy
Bell’s palsy is the paralysis or severe weakness of the nerve that controls the facial muscles, usually on one side of the face. For these patients, Botox is a great treatment for restoring facial symmetry. The paralyzed side of the face can create distortion during facial expressions. Therefore, relaxing the strong, unaffected side with Botox can restore a more normal symmetry until the condition resolves. Often, we treat both sides of the face to preserve facial balance.
Doses can vary depending on the intensity of the muscles involved. In addition, Botox injections can relieve the pain and discomfort that come with Bell’s palsy symptoms, easing the patient through a difficult time. Relief can begin within 24 hours, reach maximum effect at 2 weeks, and last approximately 3-6 months. Dermal fillers can also balance facial volume loss, which can develop from asymmetrical muscle movement over time.
Ultimately, Botox and dermal fillers are great for anyone interested in aging gracefully and naturally, including Bell’s palsy patients as well as breast cancer patients and survivors. Book an appointment and create a skincare plan that’s right for you!
