How To Get Your Skin Summer Ready!

I’m sure you’ve heard people say changing up your skincare routine is imperative with seasonal changes, well, they aren’t wrong! Our skin goes through many changes throughout the year depending on the climate. For example, our skin tends to be much dryer in the winter months. In the summer months, we notice more hyperpigmentation.

During the summer time, there are a few different factors that affect melanin in our skin. As we know, UVA/UVB rays can cause our skin to hyperpigment and become darker as a way to defend itself against the sun’s harmful rays. But, I bet you didn’t know that dehydration and body heat can cause your pigmentation to darken as well!

So How Do We Correct and Prevent?

The best way to start is to have a solid and consistent at-home skin care regimen. The 3 most important products to have during the harsh summer months is a medical grade Vitamin C, an spf with a minimum of 7% Zinc, and a manual exfoliant to help remove dirt, oils and dead skin build-up from being outside and sweating. These 3 basic products can make a huge difference in preventing and correcting hyperpigmentation. We tend to get this during the summer months.

What Treatments Can Be Done During Summer Time?

Summer is the time for maintenance, and winter is the time for correction. With that being said, what can you do to help maintain a beautiful glowing, healthy appearance to your skin? Basic exfoliating treatments like Dermaplaning or the Glo2Facial are a great way to revive the skin. They give it an extra healthy boost, in order to make your skin care products absorb more efficiently. Microneedling is another excellent treatment that can be done year round to increase collagen production and uneven skin tone and texture.
