Lip Care In The Fall To Prevent Chapped/Dry Lips
During the fall season the air tends to become drier, which can lead to chapped & dry lips. To prevent this and maintain healthy lips here are some of our tips for the fall.
First, it’s important to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body hydrated and your lips. Proper hydration will keep your lips moisturized from within which is key.
Next, you want to invest in a high quality lip balm or moisturizer and make sure you apply it regularly. You want to look for lip products that contain quality ingredients like, hyaluronic acid, beeswax, shea butter, or coconut oil, which all help to lock in moisture and protect your lips from the harsh weather. We recommend Youthful Lip Replenisher by Revision Skincare which helps replenish the appearance of youthful lip volume and has a long-lasting hydration that calms and soothes dry, dehydrated lips.
Also, avoid licking your lips! While it may be tempting to lick your lips when they feel dry, saliva can actually further dry out your lips, leaving them drier than before.
Then be sure to have a gentle lip exfoliator on hand. Exfoliating your lips regularly, can help remove dead skin cells and promote smoother lips.
Last key tip is to protect your lips when outdoors, especially on windy days. Wearing a lip treatment with SPF will create a barrier to protect against the elements of nature, like the wind and sun, keeping your lips hydrated.
Remember that consistency is key! Be sure to establish a daily lip care routine and make it a habit, to protect and defend against environmental stressors throughout the fall season!
