Party Event Skin Prep: Pre-Event Aesthetic Treatments to Post-Event Recovery Procedures
Depending on how much time you have before your big event, there are several procedures and wellness practices to consider to ensure that you present the best, freshest and healthiest version of yourself. Here is a detailed timeline of treatments and procedures to prepare the perfect canvas:
6 Months Before Event
Botox/Dysport
Botox treats wrinkles in the forehead, crows feet, frown lines, and many additional areas of the face and neck. Reducing wrinkles quickly with minimal to no downtime is helpful to look youthful in photographs to prepare for your big event.
If possible, do your first session 6 months before your wedding to ensure you like the results. It takes 2 weeks for full activation, so 4 weeks before your event is ideal for the results to settle and look more natural.
Dermal Filler
Fillers help restore lost fullness to the face, lips, and hands. As you lose collagen and elastin, another skin component called hyaluronic acid will also decrease as you age. Fillers can plump sagging skin, fill in wrinkles, give definition and support to underlying anatomical structures where the aging process has started.
Improving lost volume will help increase light reflection in pictures and create a youthful glow. Multiple sessions may be necessary so starting 6 months prior to an event gives you ample time for correction.
Start a New Retinoid
A gold standard to any skincare regimen is a Retinoid or Retinol. A Vitamin-A derivative used topically, increases cellular turnover and makes way for fresh, new cells to reach the surface of your skin, in addition to treating acne, rough or congested skin, and hyperpigmentation issues.
Diet
Cleaning up your diet at this stage before the event by reducing added sugars and refined carbohydrates will help prevent premature aging of the skin (collagen and elastin breakdown that causes fine lines and wrinkles). This will also help reduce bloating and increase energy. Reducing inflammatory fats (think canola oil, sunflower oil, etc.) will help even out skin tone and leave skin looking plump and glowing.
Replace these foods with a diet high in protein, healthy fats (such as avocado, extra virgin olive oil, nuts and seeds), leafy greens, brightly colored vegetables and low sugar fruits. At this stage, add in 3-4 strength training sessions a week to boost metabolism and get ready to feel sculpted in your party attire!
3 Months Before Event
Chemical Peels
Great for treating skin texture, acne, pigment, pores & creating glowing skin. Being acne & pigment free with glowing skin is a must for any event. It usually takes 2-3 peels in a series once a month for ideal results. Start 3 months before your event, with the final peel performed one month before.
Microneedling
Treats acne scars, fine lines, pores, texture and stimulates collagen production. Microneedling is safe for all skin types, great for scars and improves skin texture. Results can take a month to see, so a series of 3-4 sessions, once a month before your event is ideal.
Lasers
Used for skin rejuvenation, laser hair removal, acne scars, pigmentation, birthmarks, vascular lesions & much more. Some lasers require more downtime than others so you have to be prepared. For optimal results depending on the laser treatment it may take 1-3 treatments back to back 1 month apart.
Laser treatments can be a more advanced option that is non-invasive with much faster recovery times than surgical procedures. These advantages make laser treatments a valuable option for anyone that wants more advanced results without surgery.
Skincare Regimen
This is a vital component to maximize your results so being on a set regimen prior to any event is a must. It takes a good month of skincare consistency to see real results. As time goes on, your results will continue to improve. Starting on a consistent regimen 3 months prior to any event, will ensure your skin is fully acclimated.
Glo2facial
The Glo2facial is a no downtime skincare treatment that combines exfoliation, oxygenation, and infusion of special serums to help improve skin texture, tone & radiance, while also hydrating the skin. This treatment provides immediate results, leaving the skin refreshed, rejuvenated, and glowing. You will want to do a series starting three months before your event for optimal results. You can do them every 2-4 weeks up until that same week of your event.
One Month Before Event
Go In For Your Final Injectables Appointment
Every person’s timeline is unique to their skin type, but generally speaking, your final Botox appointment should be done no less than one month prior to your wedding day. That way, the treatment will have activated into your skin, while still giving a little bit of time to settle and heal if swelling or bruising occurs.
Brows & Lashes
This is the bread & butter of everything else you are already doing. These pair very well with every treatment and are an easy non-invasive way to enhance the natural beauty of your face. Brows frame our eyes and improve expressions, while lashes add depth and allure to your eyes, making them appear more vibrant and captivating.
You can do this in the same week of your event with no problem. Overall well maintained brows and lashes enhance our facial features, boost our self confidence, and make us appear more youthful overall.
B12 Injection
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is an essential water-soluble vitamin that you must obtain through diet or supplements. It’s found naturally in animal products and has many roles in your body. It supports the normal function of your nerve cells and is needed for red blood cell formation and DNA synthesis. Vitamin B12 may benefit your body in impressive ways, such as boosting your energy, improving your memory and weight loss, to name a few which is a great pre-event.
One Week Before Event
Get Your Final Facial
One week before your wedding is an ideal time to receive your final facial. This last treatment should focus on keeping the skin hydrated and healthy and avoid any kind of extractions or peels that might possibly leave the skin red or irritated. The Glo2facial for oxygen therapy with ultrasound modality to decrease puffiness, is an excellent treatment to ensure your skin looks beautiful, hydrated and glowing a week before the big day!

Coconut Oil Vs Moisturizer
Coconut oil is good for your skin because of its natural antibacterial and moisture-retention properties, but it may increase breakouts in acne-prone skin. Coconut oil has been proven to help soften rough skin, but what it doesn’t do is act as an efficient barrier to seal in moisture. When the body is able to naturally […]
